Using Biowaste for Energy

Looking for answers to solve the energy debate Nobel Prize winner Dr Steven Chu was in Bismarck today releasing some of the findings the Berkeley Lawerence National Laboratory is discovering concerning biofuels Chu says we have experienced three generations of biofuels First burning wood second growing Corn for ethanol and now looking towards bIowaste for energy including wood waste wheat straw and rice straw Dr Steven Chu Nobel Prize Winner I think you have to go to this generation of biofuels so that it is not seen as a direct competion with food and also it s energy inputs are far less than growing corn which is a very heavy energy intensive crop due to the fertilizer tillage everything else Chu says during the first nine months of research the scientists have already made big progress Dr Steven Chu Nobel Prize Winner We have already taught the microbes like yeast that is now used to make ethanol how to make gasoline and diseal like fuel already Chu says he does not known if it will have the same output as ethanol But he says he would not be suprised to have test pilot projects involving these new methods within the next four years
