ND First to Require E-85 Lables on Gas

Gas stations in North Dakota are now required to use a promotional e label to alert customers that a pump dispenses gasoline blended with ethanol Officials say it s the first state to do so Governor Hoeven ethanol industry officials and Corn growers gathered yesterday at a Fargo gas station to tout the new law Hoeven and others say it s important for the state to promote ethanol and other renewable fuels to spur rural development and to reduce the nation s dependence on foreign oil When eight plants in operation or under construction are completed the state will produce 600 million gallons a year up from 35 million gallons a few years ago
